After graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality / Food Service Management and Hotel Administration, she entered full time employment in 1977 with Servomation. She gained a variety of experience working as a traveling / relief manager for companies, hospitals and universities in the Baltimore / Washington area.
Her marriage to US Navy pilot, John Kovalcik, required a company change to ARA now Aramark. Those experiences took her to Huntsville, AL, where she managed executive dining for the Redstone Arsenal. She continued her travels to manage university dining at Texas A&I in Kingsville, TX. She switched to sales and ran event planning for the Sheraton Hotels in Corpus Christi, TX and then switched to convention / event sales, still with Sheraton, in Virginia Beach, VA.
In 1981, after a military transfer to Japan, she worked in education at Yokohama International School. She also taught English and worked as a counselor for the Naval Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program. Upon returning to the US in 1984, she spent the next 11 years working for Computerware, Inc. in human resources, and accounting. During that time, she gave birth to four children!
After the sale of Computerware in 1995 and a family move to Westwood, MA, she and husband, John, started IntePros Consulting in late 1996. She ran accounting and human resources since the beginning and has been involved in all aspects of administration, governance and strategy through out the Company's 14 year history. She has been an equal partner with John since the companies' founding and in 2010, she assumed duties as Chief Executive Officer, responsible for leadership, strategy and overall profit and loss of IntePros Incorporated.
Loren is active with the Second Step organization (battered women's organization), Community Garden Club, Christ the King Choir, and is a Board member of the New England World President's Organization. Outside of work and community service, she enjoys tennis, golf and spending time with her family. She is the proud mother of four children and lives with her husband, John Kovalcik in Westwood, MA.
A graduate of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, John served six years in the United States Navy as a fighter pilot flying F-4 Phantom aircraft from Naval aircraft carriers. After a distinguished career in Naval Aviation, he left the Navy in 1984 to join Computerware, a regional personal computer (PC) retailer/distributor. After brief duties as sales executive, sales manager and general manager, John became President / CEO in 1986.
Computerware grew to over $100 million in sales in 1995 when it was sold to Catalink Direct, an electronic commerce PC reseller. John served as President of the $600 million combined Company and participated in an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the renamed company, Elcom International (NASDAQ "ELCO"), in late 1995.
After completing the Computerware - Elcom International transition, John and his wife, Loren started a new venture in systems integration and outsourcing of Information Technology (IT) professionals with IntePros Consulting. By combining their technology background and the public company experience they acquired at Computerware and Elcom International along with John's leadership, precision and aggressiveness discipline from 10 years of Naval Aviation, IntePros has achieved great success as an IT professional services and systems integration firm.
Loren provided leadership and discipline from her background in sales, accounting and management. The first office opened in May 1997 with three staff members.
